"These Well-Kept Secrets On Show Jumping Will Have You Jumping 7 Foot Log Jumps In Just A Few Days" * FREE For A Limited Time * From The Desk Of: Mike Moore Dear Friend, I am infatuated with show jumping and want to get into the professional side of things While surfing around the internet, I stumbled upon something so fantastic that it immediately got my attention… In fact, I discovered something sooo amazing at first I thought it was "too good to be true" like most things are. You see, a few months ago, I was actually doing some research on Lt. Col M.P. Ansell - one of the most acknowledged and influential instructors of the last century and of all time. I noticed that most of his work was available and accounted for with the exception of one of his most

Showjuping Scotland
Scottish Amateur Internations ShowJumping
The Scottish Amateur Inter-Nations Showjumping was an idea first conceived in Scotland by a group of enthusiastic riders from North East Fife Riding Club, who were invited to compete at the famous Ballivor Horse Show in Ireland, for the prestigious Irish Amateur Nations Cup. Whilst in Ireland, the Scottish riders were third overall and it was observed that there were just as many, if not more riders like ourselves, where the majority competing had full-time jobs and enjoyed their showjumping as a hobby. The amateur class in Ireland was very well attended and provided a niche for these riders to compete within their "comfort zone" ranging from 1.10m to 1.30m. Since returning from our trip in 1997, the Scottish Amateur Committee has staged annual events at Dabbs Arena, Fife.

It is an event that is popular among spectators everywhere. It provides a source of excitement for everyone, even those who may have never even seen a horse before! The objective is for riders to complete the "obstacle" course with the least amount of penalties being accumulated and without having exceeded the time allowed. Penalties are assessed for knockdowns and refusals. In the event of a tie, or with more than one rider having gone clear, then a timed jump-off is held with the rider having gone the fastest with the least penalties being the winner. Canadian Pony Club Show Jumping competitions are governed by current C.E.F. rules - Table A, Table C, or Power and Speed. Depending on the type of class being run, those riders who go clear and within the time allowed may qualify for a jump-off. In the jump-off, clean rounds count ahead of those with knock-downs, and the fastest clean round wins. The Canadian Pony Club National Show Jumping Rules allow for seven divisions of competition: Class Name Maximum Height Entry 2'3" (2'6" jumpoff) Starter 2'6" (2'9" jumpoff)
