Rules of Snooker Do you look upon yourself as a competent texas holdem player? Put your talent to the test against other up-and-coming poker players in one of the many poker tournaments online. Type of Game: International or "English" snooker is the most widely played form of snooker around the world. It is generally played on 6'x12' English billiard tables, with cushions that are more narrow than on pocket billiard tables and which curve smoothly into the pocket openings. 5 x 10 and snooker tables of even smaller playing dimensions may be used for the game. On a 6 x 12 snooker (English billiard) table the playing area within the cushion faces shall measure 11' 8.5" x 5' 10" with a tolerance on both dimensions of +/-0.5". The height of the table is measured from the floor to the top of the cushion rail, and the height shall measure 34" with an allowable variance of +/-0.5". Players: Balls Used: Set of Snooker balls: fifteen object balls that are not numbered and are solid red (called reds), six object balls of other colors that are not numbered (called colors) and a cue ball (called the white ball). Point values for object balls: red-1, yellow-2, green-3, brown-4, blue-5, pink-6, black-7. In International Snooker the balls used are 2-1/16" diameter. The Rack: Play begins with the balls placed as in the diagram above. The pink is spotted on the Pyramid Spot. The apex ball of the triangle of reds is racked as close as possible to the pink without touching it.

The game arose, presumably in India, as a game for soldiers in the 1870s. The game is played with 22 balls, made up of one white ball (the cue ball); 15 red balls, valued at 1 point each; one yellow, 2 points; one green, 3; one brown, 4; one blue, 5; one pink, 6; and one black, 7. Players try to pocket first the red and then the nonred balls, scoring one point for each red and the number value of the others. To begin, the balls are arranged as follows: all reds in a pyramid with its apex on the pyramid spot; black on the billiard spot near the foot of the table; pink touching the apex of the pyramid; blue at the centre spot; and green, brown, and yellow at the left, centre, and right of the straight line of the D, a semicircular area at the head of the table.

Snooker
USDAA Courses includes a snooker course. Super Q Table quick reference for how many Super Qs will be awarded. Snooker is a very fun course to plan and run. It tests the control and send-away ability of the team. The course is divided into an opening and closing. Handlers are free to create their opening in a manner that they feel will give them the most points before proceeding through the closing which is designated 1 through 7. The "Reds" used in the opening are worth 1 point each. A SCT is set in which the point accumulation period ends for the class, and 37 points is required to qualify. The highest points accumulated in the fastest time wins. To begin planning, time the length of time it takes to perform the closing sequence. This gives one an estimate of how much time is left over in order to work the opening. Generally the idea is to accumulate the most amount of points in the opening as possible and still complete the closing. In the opening think of the "reds" as a key to the door to complete one of the "colors", the numbered obstacles in the closing on course. Complete a red and you have earned the key which unlocks the door to go ahead and perform a color obstacle. If you fault in the opening, do a red. That's the easiest way to remember what you need to do to continue. When you have completed all of the reds, followed by a color, on course you may then proceed to the closing sequence which is numbered 1 through 7.
