Georgia ASA had an outstanding year at ASA/USA Nationals in 2010 . Twelve Georgia teams finished in the Top 10 of its respective tournament, including two National Runner-ups (Atlanta Vipers-Berry in 16A and Georgia Impact-Bass in 12A) and a national Champion (East Cobb Bullets in 18-Gold). Below is a story by Kennesaw State's Mark Toma on the Bullets' championship game which earned the Bullets and Georgia ASA it's first J.O. USA/ASA National Title... Courtesy: Mark Toma, Kennesaw State Athletics North Florida did not go down without a fight, just as they had in their nine previous elimination games, as they put runners on first and third with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Sami Fagan lofted a ball to shallow center field, but a diving catch by center fielder Haley Downs gave the Bullets their second out and after pitcher Lori Spingola got Ryan Iamurri to fly out to left field, East Cobb earned their spot in fast pitch history. The Bullets answered in the top of the third inning when they tied the game on a run scoring ground out by Chelsea Thomas and a Downs double which scooted past a diving left fielder Sami Fagan, who recovered in time to throw Downs out as she tried to leg out a triple.
