Sign up for our Email Newsletter Sports tend to attract hard working, dedicated people who are not afraid of a little pain suffered in order to achieve their goals. Athletes of all levels are looking to maximize their performance - many love the struggle required to overcome personal obstacles. They push themselves mercilessly against their perceived limits often ignoring injuries. Many continue aggressive training despite long term injuries. In the past few years, the elite sports world has been trying to change that mentality among Olympic level athletes. Coaches as well as highly skilled athletes have discovered the need to incorporate a deep stretch program but until they discovered Classical Stretch, were at a loss in finding a suitable workout. Due to the efficiency of the Classical Stretch program, Canadian Olympic coaches have included this workout in their top-level athletes' schedules. They have seen significant results in both performance enhancement and injuries reduction. In order to achieve maximum results many athletes are now regularly following Classical Stretch. It has been proven that 1-hour Classical Stretch classes performed twice weekly, raises an athlete's performance level and considerably reduces sports related repetitive training injuries. Have you been Falsely Accused of Doping?
The use of performance-enhancing substances in sports has been in the media spotlight like never before. Clearly, chemically induced advantages can undermine the traditional principle of a level playing field and the abuse of these substances can lead to health risks. The war against the use of performance-enhancing substances in sports has been waged mostly on two fronts: prohibition of the substances by athletic bodies with drug testing of players, and legislation of the substances as dangerous drugs with criminal penalties imposed upon violators. Drug testing for banned substances has become commonplace in numerous professional and amateur sports, and stricter testing is on the way.
The system helps catch cheaters. But it has its limitations. Not all banned substances are detectable in urine samples. For example, a reliable test for human growth hormone is only just now arriving on the scene, although the substance has been used to cheat in athletic circles for two decades. Newly created steroids are also likely to go undetected, and the use of various masking agents and techniques further confound the doping police. In the very, very near future, the availability of genetic manipulation technologies will create a new "unlevel playing field" ... and may render anabolic steroids obsolete. Those who say that the doping police will always be far behind the cheaters may be right.

AAP outlines medical concerns for female athletes
An updated policy from the American Academy of Pediatrics stresses that while exercise is important and should be promoted in girls for health and enjoyment, pediatricians should be aware of health problems that may occur in female athletes. The policy covers important health issues that impact female athletes including disordered eating, menstrual dysfunction and decreased bone mineral density (osteoporosis). The original AAP statement on female athletes only addressed menstrual dysfunction, also called "amenorrhea." Coming to terms
Connecticut basketball star Shea Ralph struggled with anorexia nervosa, which depleted her to the point that she needed help getting out of bed. After a knee injury in 1997, Ralph said, she was afraid she would gain weight. "I flipped," Ralph said in Sunday's Hartford Courant. "And I just didn't eat." Exercise excess?
