From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation search Warfare Military history ... e Military science is the process of translating national defence policy to produce military capability by employing military scientists, including: theorists, researchers, experimental scientists, applied scientists, designers, engineers, test technicians, and military personnel responsible for prototyping. In so doing, military science seeks to interpret policy into what military skills are required, which, by employing military concepts and military methods, can use military technologies , military weapon systems, and other military equipment to produce required military capability. Military science involves creation of theories , concepts, methods and systems applicable to the functions and activities of the armed forces , usually undertaken to increase overall military capability by increasing efficiency, effectiveness and simplicity of complex concepts, methods and systems used in military operations in peace during a war. Military science is the means by which military personnel obtain military technology weapons equipment and training to satisfactorily provide military capability as required by the national defence policy to achieve specific strategic goals . A detailed depiction of the conflict, the tactics used to wage it, and the role of a military service and the individual members of that service forms the basis for a work of military science fiction. The stories often take features of actual past or current Earth conflicts, with countries being replaced by entire planets or galaxies of similar characteristics, battleships replaced by space battleships and certain events changed so that the author can extrapolate on what might have occurred. original research?

History:
Military Science "I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy." - John Adams While truly masterful works on war by men like Sun Tzu and Machiavelli have remained valuable since their creation, the acknowledgement of Military Science as a field of study separate from war itself only began in the seventeenth century. During the next two hundred years, numerous treatises on contemporary warfare surfaced. Two of the most influential military scientists of their time, Carl von Clausewitz and Antoine Henri-Jomeni, birthed a rivalry that continues to this day, focused in large part on their major works, Clausewitz's "On War" and Jomeni's "The Art of War".

Military science
Military Science concerns itself with the study and analysis of the diverse technical, psychological, and practical phenomena that encompass the events that make up warfare, especially armed combat. It strives to be an all-encompassing scientific system that if properly employed, will greatly enhance the practitioner's ability to prevail in an armed conflict with any adversary. To this end, it is unconcerned whether that adversary is an opposing military force, guerrillas or other irregulars, or even knows of or utilizes military science in return. Military science encompasses 6 major branches, as follows: Modern Western military art is composed primarily of an amalgam of French, German, British, and United States systems. The Russian system borrows from these systems as well, either through study, or personal observation in the form of invasion ( Napoleon's War of 1812, and The Great Patriotic War ), and form a unique product suited for the conditions practioners of this system will encounter. The system that is produced by the analysis provided by Military Art is known as doctrine.

MILITARY SCIENCE The completion of the Army ROTC program leads to a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard. Students completing the program receive their commissions upon graduation and serve a specified period of active duty ranging from three months to four years, depending upon the student’s choice of commissioning program and Army requirements. CURRICULUM The ROTC program specializes in teaching leadership and management skills required by the military and sought by civilian employers. ROTC cadets learn how to motivate co-workers and how to plan, organize and implement large projects and tasks. They also learn skills in demand in civilian businesses, such as teamwork, tact problem solving, decision making, and effective communication. The program includes the Basic Course for freshmen and sophomores and the Advanced Course for juniors and seniors. Students incur active duty and reserve commitments only upon enrollment in the Advanced Course or through the ROTC scholarship program. All freshmen are required to complete MS 120 and MS 130 to satisfy the institution requirement for two credit hours of Military Science. Credit for Military Science courses beyond this requirement can not be applied to degree requirements. However, grades for all Military Science courses are included in cumulative grade point ratios.

Military Technology Transfer Aeragon examines how modern material human existence developed out of advances in military technology. Few elements of modern life are not the result of military development in some way. For example, the way that you are seeing this site, the Internet and computer, grew out of military technologies. Here, you can obtain a great deal of information about technological advances in military equipment down through the ages and their transfer to civilian uses. Many of today's most popular consumer items were actually developed by the world's militaries. This includes many articles of clothing as well as things that would seemingly be unrelated such as trendy furniture. Some of the most sought after civilian vehicles and also certain modern building styles were spin-offs of military technologies. The consumer electronic products of today all owe their existence to advancements in military technology. In the few cases where the whole concept of a consumer electronic device is not the product of military technology, the underlying hardware technology such as printed circuits is. The influence of military design affects not only the functional aspects of material life, but also, the aesthetics of it. This site contains information on many aspects of how modern societies have advanced technologically and materially through military advances. It also encompasses some facets that similar studies do not include. Many aspects of the social structures of modern Western societies are a direct result of defense advancements.
