This might be because you are dealing with a semiconductor, which might have a saturation effect, or perhaps because of the temperature effect on resistance due to power dissipation. Watch out! For April 2010, sheet resistance math has been moved to its own page Skin depth considerations: in a microstrip transmission line, the part of the conductor and ground plane that carry the most current is the closest to the substrate. The skin depth affect is what makes RF sheet resistance greater than DC sheet resistance All resistors exhibit some degree of variation with temperature. Usually the variation is close to linear. The temperature coefficient of resistance

Very good mathematics dictionary, also available on CD-ROM. The price is very reasonable, and the dictionary is fairly comprehensive. Most definitions are rather dry and technical, albeit precise. Some figures and cross-references are provided, but no literature references and few formulas. The typesetting of the formulas is not very attractive. The HarperCollins Dictionary is a useful quick reference to mathematics students and educators, but is likely less useful to students or researchers in the physical sciences who need examples, diagrams, and references. There is little material on recreational mathematics or on very recent results. The encyclopedia by Weisstein is more eclectic, slightly less technical, and contains more details and much more recreational material. $18. Bouvier, Alain. and George, Michel.

Please consider supporting this site Jump to: navigation search Mathematics is the systematic treatment of magnitude, relationships between figures and forms, and relations between quantities expressed symbolically. Mathematics is one of the great gifts of God and greatest discoveries of the human race. Mankind has used it to bring about our most important scientific and technological advances. Mathematics works hand in hand with science . Carl Friedrich Gauss once called mathematics "the Queen of the Sciences". Mathematics is one of the oldest and most fundamental sciences. Mathematicians use mathematical theory, computational techniques, algorithms, and the latest computer technology to solve economic, scientific, engineering, physics, and business problems. The work of mathematicians falls into two broad classes—theoretical (pure) mathematics and applied mathematics. These classes, however, are not sharply defined and often overlap. Concepts ... See Also Theoretical mathematicians advance mathematical knowledge by developing new principles and recognizing previously unknown relationships between existing principles of mathematics. Although these workers seek to increase basic knowledge without necessarily considering its practical use, such pure and abstract knowledge has been instrumental in producing or furthering many scientific and engineering achievements. Many theoretical mathematicians are employed as university faculty, dividing their time between teaching and conducting research.
