The Isotope Effect In Band Spectra, II: The Spectrum Of Boron Monoxide Title The Isotope Effect in Band Spectra, II The Spectrum of Boron Monoxide Authors Mulliken, Robert S. Affiliation AA(Jefferson Physical Laboratory, Harvard University) http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1925PhRv...25..259M
Extractions: 10.1103/PhysRev.25.259 Bibliographic Code: Abstract Band spectrum of boron monoxide.-Previous measurements of Jevons on the BO bands (ascribed by him to BN) have been extended, with the help of new spectrograms. Over 100beta and about 200alpha heads were measured or identified and are tabulated with their intensities. (1) Complete verification of the predicted vibrational isotope effect is found for both alpha and beta systems. Each is composed of two closely similar superposed systems, of which the weaker and larger scale one is due to the less abundant isotope B O, the other to B

Electrons and a compact nucleus of protons and neutrons The atom is a basic unit of matter that consists of a dense, central nucleus surrounded by a cloud of negatively charged electrons . The atomic nucleus contains a mix of positively charged protons and electrically neutral neutrons (except in the case of hydrogen-1 , which is the only stable nuclide with no neutrons). The electrons of an atom are bound to the nucleus by the electromagnetic force . Likewise, a group of atoms can remain bound to each other, forming a
