Double Disc Court

Extractions: The team winning the disc flip shall have its choice on one of the three options: 1) which court they will defend; or 2) which team shall initiate; or 3) which team shall declare its server. The team losing the flip shall then have its choice on one of the two remaining options, leaving the final option to the team winning the flip (204.01 A). What does the non-serving partner call to initiate serving? The player states the score and then makes the serving call, "Ready, two, one, throw." There should be equal time intervals between each word in the serving call. The total time of the serving call must be between 2 seconds - 3.5 seconds (204.01 C). What happens when someone makes an incorrect serving call?

Extractions: Double disc court is a frisbee sport which combines quickness, strategy, and throwing ability. It is one of seven events contested yearly at the world overall flying disc championships and the most fun thing to do ever. DDC is played by two teams of two players each. The courts are 13 meters square and 17 meters apart. You get one point for a throw that lands and stays in the opponents' court. Your opponents get one point if your throw touches outside their court. If you can arrange it so that the other team is touching both discs at the same time, you get two points. That is called "doubling" your opponents. A common strategy for escaping doubles is to tip one of the discs, then catch and throw the other disc back while the tipped disc is in the air. In the picture, Tony (in the front of the court) has tipped his disc. I am catching the other disc and will throw it back before Tony catches his tip. His ability to relate to the students was excellent, his instructional language was at their level and he has the audience in control at all times. Many of our students are special needs (autistic, intellectually delayed, spina bifida, multi-needs etc). During the clinic Gary successfully integrated these students.

Extractions: Well, I know it's been forever and a day since I've last updated the site. I do apologize for that. 2007 was a lot busier than I ever could have imagined. In fact, 2008 is only going to get worse! Not only will I be trying to get back into shape, but I will be attempting to qualify for 2009 worlds after 2 years of almost no disc golf. It's going to be difficult but I'm up for the challenge. Speaking of challenges! A new addition to the family will be coming this summer as well. The wife and I are expecting our first child July 1. That should make qualifying all the more difficult, but hopefully, I can get enough points before then that I can transition to practice instead of tourneys. Will have to see! ALSO? I know I've promised it for years, but I am hoping to get this site updated into more of a blog type site soon. It should be simple to modify the existing site to fit that criteria. Will have to see though. Well, since the weather was nice Sunday, a few of us decided to go out to Ewing for a round. While I was out there I was able to get my beginning impressions of the new Chief Putter. I mainly wanted to test out it's durability as well as it's feel during putting and upshots. So I took my 175g proto and hit the course!
