Extractions: The Latest News After great success in softball and golf, the 2010 fall sports season continued with State Team and Doubles Bowling. Nearly 1,100 bowlers from around the state competed at Holiday and Sawmill Lanes on October 23 and 24. The highest traditional team score came from Summit Hudson’s Ashley Bach, Michael Busch, Matthew Gilles, and Andrew Whiteman who bowled a 1045 as their total in two games. In doubles competition, Kirk Pontius and Derek Gaskill from Van Wert Special Olympics pulled together a 659 for the highest double’s score of the weekend. On the unified team competition, Medina DD’s Greg Johnson, Mike Lozinski, Anita Gerhart, Robert Aridano bowled a huge 1189 for the highest unified score. A huge thanks and much appreciation to all our volunteers, which included the AM Vets, Defiance Alumni Association, and Defiance Men’s Basketball Team. Our next championship is the State Aquatics Meet at Ohio State McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion on December 18 and 19. Come out and cheer on athletes from around the state.
