Ore To Shore 48 mile and 24 mile point-to-point mountain bike race in Michigan s Upper Peninsula. Includes race information, registration and results. http://www.oretoshore.com/
Extractions: Scott Tuma, O2S race director, attributes the success to a combination of factors. "First, I think it's our geography. We have great terrain here in Marquette County. It's not flat by any means, but it's not as undoable as the Colorado Mountains either. With Lake Superior as a backdrop, magnificent views are provided as some racers descend practically 1,000 feet. Sometimes I know it doesn't seem like it, especially at Kirby's Hill, but from 20 or so miles out, you're on a gradual decline towards the lake for the duration." Tuma continues, "Secondly, we've designed a course that's interesting to all levels of riders. We're attracting some of the Mid-West's top riders who enjoy the challenge of the 48-mile course, but we are also attracting riders for the 28-mile race who have never before entered any race. They feel comfortable enough knowing that there is support on the trail, that the trail isn't too technical and that they can ride for their own personal enjoyment."

Extractions: Canada's Spring Cycling Classic APRIL 17, 2011 - 18TH ANNUAL CLASSIC For over a century the roads of northern Europe have been home to the toughest bicycle races in the world. The most famous of these, Paris to Roubaix, takes place each spring over brutal cobblestone roads that have been preserved in their historic condition for over 100 years. Inspired by this classic race, the Paris to Ancaster has taken place for the past seventeen years over the roughest farm lanes, trails and gravel roads we can find. Combined with unpredictable spring weather and the largest field of riders assembled in Canada, it has become a classic race experience for everyone from average riders to Canadian Olympians. Join us on April 17, 2011 to become part of the history of this unique race.

Founders Brewing Company presents... The Lumberjack 100 and the Michigan Ultra Single Speed Championship. Michigan's only 100-mile mountain bike race! The Lumberjack 100 will once again utilize Michigan's beautiful Manistee National Forest, but with a new 33-mile loop snaking through the Big-M Ski Area for 2010. The Michigan style single track; composed mostly of hard pack trail, occasional sandy sections, and fast rolling terrain offers twists and turns that demand constant power, and total concentration as the trails quickly turn to nothing more than green blurs of forest. (If you're expecting easy, fire-road coasting, look elsewhere!) Ninety percent of the 33-mile, 3-lap race is comprised of this single track that will eventually push racers over 9,000 feet of total elevation gain. From the pro/elite racers, to those that will find victory in just surviving a race like the Founders Lumberjack 100, the post-race meal/awards has also made this a must-be-there event for both racers and spectators alike. In addition to enjoying the catered meal; there will also be post-race prizes including a Cannondale Rush frameset, Velocity wheelset and other bike schwag awarded to random race participants.

Liberty! Bicycles Off-Road Squeezer 2010 A 30km MTB race in Saint Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Course description, entry forms and results. http://www.libertybicycles.com/squeezer/
Extractions: Judging from the smiles, it may have been the best Squeezer ever. The weather was cool, but sunny, and the trail conditions were excellent. The course always very secretive included new singletrack on both ends; And, also the first official use of the unopened Laura Secord Bridge, on Decew Road. It's historic! A little over 800 participants registered for the event, and competition was fierce (but always friendly.) The Group A wave was stacked with some of the best cyclists in the province, if not the nation: Zandstra, Batty, Watson, Morka, Garrigan and more, plus some young-guns to watch-out for in the future: Wagler(s), Etzl and DeCal. It was incredibly exciting to watch the starts and finish and see all participants give everything they had inside them to hammer the course. Inspirational. And the community came out in large numbers to help! Not only did they point the racers around the course safely, but they showed everyone how great Niagara can be. We at Liberty! Bicycles appreciate all the support the event is given. It's the reason the Squeezer truly is the funnest off-road party in Ontario. Cheers to you!
