The moment, the timing, the people involved, the setting, the atmosphere and sometimes even the song. Those moments don't come along that often but when they do you'll remember that moment for the rest of your life each time you pass that "spot" or see that "person." Such was the case this afternoon. My wife had to go to one of those jewelry parties that women go to all the time. She was leaving early so my son and I decided to go town and have a bite to eat at our favorite bar-b-que shack in town. It was one of those nice afternoons with a slight breeze, low humidity and just the opposite of anything we'd been having lately. After getting our fill of bar-b-que we headed back home. As soon as we left town and headed West, we noticed the clouds were different. There were big thunderheads down low mixed with those little "wisp" clouds way up high and then a bunch of medium clouds in the middle. How about those technical terms! As we were looking at the clouds, listening to the radio and talking, that moment started to take shape. The first thing to happen was the sun was setting fast. As it was setting, in just a matter of less than five minutes the clouds went from white, to black, to gold, to orange. About midway through this transformation of the clouds the George Strait song, "I saw God today" came on. I might be the only person that thinks this, but each time I hear that song I think of the day our son was born. Call me an old softy, but that is what the song is about and that is what I think when I hear it. I know I'm not the only one that thinks this either.
