July 14, 2000 On The Diamond Baseball Seneca County Pony League A St. Joseph overcame an 8-3 deficit by exploding for nine runs in the top of the sixth en route to beating Sycamore 12-8. Zack Hawkins, Michael Harvey and Corey DeBarbie all launched a home run for St. Joseph. Hawkins hit two singles and Harvey and DeBarbie hit a single each. Michael Martorana and Troy Keller both lined a double and single, Brooks Arbogast and Scott Perry ripped two singles apiece and Shawn Deats legged out a triple. Hawkins picked up the win, while Corey Holzhauer, Keller and Harvey also all pitched. Seneca County Pony League Richard Alford held the Green Springs hitters at bay, throwing a one-hitter to lead the Tiffin Wildcats to a 15-1 victory. Joey Bish and Aaron McQuistion had the big bats for the Wildcats. Bish slugged a homer and added a single while McQuistion went 3-for-3 with a double and two singles. Tyler Tracy, Curt Cochran and Josh Coger added singles. Green Springs only hit was a single off the bat of Josh Zartman. * Jon Weininger pitched all seven innings and Matt Diem and Zach Peiffer each drilled a double and single to lead Clinton I to a 10-8 win over Mohawk Red. Brett Kuhn and Tony Heminger both doubled for Clinton I while Jon Weininger, Jeremy Weininger and Trent Shumaker all singled. Wes Sharp paced Mohawk Red with a home run, double and two singles. Dusty Sowers added a double and single, Jason Engle and Ryan McClain hit a double apiece and Joe Peck, Ryan Hossler and Eric Haubert all singled.
