Edit The Group I Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor Agonist (S)-3,5- Dihydroxyphenylglycine Induces a Novel Form of Depotentiation in the CA1 Region of the Hippocampus Citations: 7 Wei-Ming Zho Jia-Lin You Chiung-Chun Huang ... Kuei-Sen Hsu The ability of activation of group I metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) to induce depotentiation was investigated at Schaffer collateral-CA1 synapses of rat hippocampal slices. Brief bath application (5 min) of group I mGluR agonist (S)-3,5- dihydroxyphenylglycine (DHPG) (10 M) induced a long-term depression of synaptic transmission or depotentiation (DEP) of previously established long-term potentiation (LTP), which was independent of NMDA or A1 adenosine receptor activation. This DHPG-DEP was observed when DHPG was delivered 3 min Published in 2002.
Biography Of You-Chiung Lin YOUCHIUNG LIN. You-Chiung Lin was born in 1971 in Taiwan. After starting the piano at the age of five, she studied with Juanelva Rose at Tunghai University in her native country. http://www.bco.myby.co.uk/yclin_biog.html
Extractions: YOU-CHIUNG LIN As a concerto enthusiast, You-Chiung has performed successfully with - and for some become regular soloist for - several orchestras in the UK including the Bristol Concert Orchestra, the City of Canterbury Symphony Orchestra, the Corinthian Chamber Orchestra, the Croydon Symphony Orchestra, the Reading Symphony Orchestra, the Wandsworth Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of St John's Smith Square. Symfunny, the most recent venture, in which You-Chiung teams up with Don Reid from the Granada TV series "The Comedians", combining two talents that together aim to bring classical music - sometimes considered a rigid performing form - to a much wider audience, is a different concept. Their work will make going to concerts a more enjoyable and relaxed experience, and consequently introduce lesser-known repertoires to the wider public. They have recently introduced "An Almost Tribute to Victor Borge", which received very positive feedback at its première, and will no doubt continue to entertain a great variety of audiences with the remembrance of Borge's unique talent. A CD of rare Romantic works, La Flûte Romantique, on "The Flute Studio" label, featuring You-Chiung Lin and Singaporean flautist Tiong-Eng Goh, was released in 1996. She has also produced a limited-edition recording in November 2000, performing solo pieces by Chopin, Liszt, Mozart and Rachmaninoff. A live recording of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 2 accompanied by the composer's Fantaisie-Tableax for two pianos, presenting You-Chiung and Stefan Hofkes with the Bristol Concert Orchestra, was made available in the early 2006.
